Two people sustained suspected minor injuries last Friday when a motorcycle struck a deer at 10:54 p.m. on U.S. 283 in Norton County. The 1980 Harley-Davidson motorcycle was driven by Michael D. Gaschler, 55, of Ellis and his passenger was Barbara Root, 54, of Lyons. They were not wearing helmets. Both were taken to the Norton County Hospital.
