Two vehicles collided Thursday morning in Ellsworth County, sending one passenger to the Ellsworth Medical Center with what were believed to be minor injuries. Kansas Highway Patrol reports that the crash occurred at 11:48 a.m. at the K-140 and K-111 junction.

A 2012 Dodge 5500 driven by James L. Jiricek, 62, of Ellsworth, was eastbound on K-140. Bryce A. Pearson, 35, of Hickman, Neb., was driving a 2015 Hino straight truck and failed to yield at the stop sign. The Pearson vehicle was struck in the right rear corner by the Dodge.

Neither driver was injured but a passenger in the Dodge, 56-year-old Lorna Gale Lacefield, Ellsworth, was taken to the hospital. Both drivers and Lacefield were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash.
