A Wichita woman who was driving a car that rear-ended a van Thursday morning in Sedgwick County was taken to Wesley Medical Center with suspected serious injury. The van was driven by an Ellinwood man whose condition was unknown Thursday evening, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol.
Lucas Keith Burton, 32, of Ellinwood was driving an eastbound 2011 Ford Econoline van towing a trailer at 7:55 a.m. on K-96, on the bridge over Woodlawn. Sarah Elizabeth Hunter, 30, of Wichita, was driving a 1999 Pontiac Bonneville in the eastbound lane behind the van. Burton stopped in the lane due to traffic congestion and the car ran into the back of the trailer.
KHP reports both drivers were wearing safety restraints.
