Kansas Highway Patrol

An 11-year-old girl from Bison was injured Tuesday morning when a car ran over her right leg, outside the school gym at Maple and Main in Bison. According to the Kansas Highway Patrol online crash logs, Carly J. Welsh’s 15-year-old brother was dropping her off at 7:25 a.m., and his foot came off the brake as she got out of the passenger door of the car, a Honda sedan. She was transported to a hospital in Great Bend.

 

Great Bend Police

Tuesday reports:

Troy Schroeder was driving east in the 2300 block of U.S. 281 Bypass at 24th St. and sideswiped a stop sign, at 8:42 a.m.

Someone ran over a bike at 4800 17th St. Terrace.

A counterfeit $50 was passed at Great Bend High School.

A hit-and-run vehicle was northbound in the 2300 block of 23rd St. at 5:06 p.m. and rear-ended a vehicle driven by Elizabeth Mater.

The back window on the house at 2523 Forest Ave. was broken and the screen was removed, but no items were taken.

Outside agency assists for the Kansas Bureau of Investigation were performed at 9:23 and 10:36 p.m. A GBPD officer stood by with the KBI during interviews at 5501 Ninth St. No. 61.

Someone broke the side window on a vehicle at 5501 Ninth St. No. 41. Loss was $200.
