Firefighters made four ambulance runs Friday, 12 Saturday and six Sunday.
At 8:19 p.m. Friday they were dispatched to 1815 Eighth St. for a garage fire. They arrived to find heavy smoke coming from the eaves and overhead door of a detached double garage. Chief Mike Napolitano said the fire was extinguished. There was slight damage to another building and to the 2005 Ford pickup in the garage. The cause was ruled electrical. Total damage was estimated at $30,000.
At 8:19 p.m. Saturday, firefighters responded to a possible structure fire at 817 Heizer St. “Upon arrival there was no fire,” Napolitano said. “However, police advised they had a domestic where the occupant poured gasoline in the house.”
A small fire in the playground area at Riley Elementary School was reported at 6:40 p.m. Sunday. A small amount of the rubber around the play equipment had burned.
