Great Bend Fire Department

Firefighters made six ambulance runs on Monday. There were no fires.

 

Barton County Sheriff

During a 90-minute period Monday evening, three motorists reported hitting deer in Barton County. The first report at 8:27 p.m. came from the 1000 block of NE 100 Ave. Kansas Highway Patrol responded to the second report, at 8:54 p.m. on SE 100 Ave. near SE 20 Road, south of Ellinwood. Another vehicle hit a deer two miles west of Great Bend on U.S. 56, at 9:56 p.m.

 

Great Bend Police

A burglary at 1411 12th St. was reported Friday. Medication was taken from the house.

Theft of a cell phone from a truck parked at 3907 Broadway was reported Saturday.

A vehicle driven by Michael Haines was eastbound on 10th St. at 1:10 p.m. Saturday and struck a vehicle driven by Sloan Folk, who was also eastbound on 10th.

James Blake was backing a vehicle in the 2100 block of 29th St. at 7:33 p.m. Saturday and struck a parked vehicle.

A screen door at 1804 Monroe was damaged sometime Saturday afternoon or evening.

Someone broke out the window on a vehicle at 2618 Bonita Ave., opened the trunk and took an amp and subwoofer, it was reported early Sunday. This is also a residence where a home burglary was reported that evening.

A motorist in a gold pickup reportedly drove off from 2716 10th St. at 9:58 p.m. Sunday without paying for $4.94 worth of fuel, and a person in a black Ford Ranger left 3907 Broadway without paying for $52 in fuel at 11:42 p.m.

Theft of a propane tank from the back yard of 2602 Williams St. was reported Monday.

On Monday a man reported property was stolen from his yard sale at 1200 Monroe St. while he was at the police department making a report on a missing license tag.

A vehicle driven by Helen Morgan was westbound on 10th St. at 2:27 p.m. Monday and rear-ended a vehicle driven by Susan Patton, who was stopped in traffic.

Craig Kober was driving east on 24th St. at 3:07 p.m. Monday and struck the rear of a vehicle driven by Ramon Garcia, who was stopped in traffic in the 1800 block.

Richard Lakin III was driving west on 10th St. at 4:55 p.m. Monday and as he changed lanes in the 700 block he struck another westbound vehicle, driven by James McVey.
