Two people were taken to Pawnee Valley Community Hospital after a Buick went off a sandy road Tuesday in Pawnee County. The accident occurred at 4:25 p.m. on U.S. 183 at H Road. Brianna M. Blackwell, 15, of Herington was driving east with Beth E. Blackwell, 48, as her passenger. Both were wearing seat belts.

The driver lost control of the car, which went into a ditch and rolled onto its top. Both air bags deployed and the Blackwells crawled out of the car and were taken to the hospital in Larned by a personal vehicle.
