GB man arrested on drug charges

Great Bend Police arrested a 47-year-old Great Bend man Wednesday evening after a traffic stop led to the discovery of suspected narcotics.

According to a GBPD report, at approximately 6:15 p.m. Wednesday, an officer initiated a traffic stop in the 2400 block of Main Street for a vehicle with an expired registration. The driver, Nathan Manley, did not have a valid driver’s license, the vehicle did not have insurance, and the vehicle’s registration had expired two years prior.

The GBPD K-9, Menta, conducted a free-air sniff of the vehicle. Menta indicated to the odor of illegal narcotics coming from the vehicle. A search produced suspected methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. Manley was placed under arrest and transported to the Barton County Jail where he was booked in lieu of bond.
