Great Bend Fire/EMS

A fire was reported over the noon hour on Christmas Day in the 800 block of Stone Street.

Great Bend EMS had six runs Friday, three runs Saturday, five runs Sunday and 10 runs Monday over the long Christmas weekend.

Great Bend firefighters responded to a rash of false alarms and defective device activations.

 On Friday, the department responded to a false fire alarm at Fuller Industries; one carbon monoxide check with none detected; a gas leak call at 3:48 a.m. in the 2100 block of 32nd Place and a sprinkler malfunction.

On Saturday, firefighters responded to a sprinkler malfunction. On Sunday, a second-story fire report was received at 12:42 p.m. with no injuries reported. On Monday, the department responded to a smoke detector activation with no fire reported.


Great Bend Police

A non-injury crash with following arrest was reported at 12:34 a.m. Thursday at 717 Kansas Ave. Bob Mix was arrested for DUI and booked at Barton County Jail.

Damage to property was reported at 12:49 p.m. Friday at 805 Stone St. A subject accidentally melted the water meter trying to thaw it out.

A non-injury crash was reported at 3:10 p.m. at Walmart, 3503 10th St.

A non-injury crash was reported at 1:26 p.m. Saturday at 1315 Monroe St.

A narcotics violation was reported at 9:46 p.m. at Hemlock Drive and Patton Road. Braydon Dove was arrested for marijuana and paraphernalia possession.

A non-injury crash was reported at 9:12 p.m. Sunday at McKinley and Railroad Ave.

A non-injury crash with no visible damage was reported at 11:05 p.m. at Broadway and Madison St.

Criminal damage to property was reported at 6:23 p.m. Monday at 1315 Monroe St. 

A traffic arrest was reported at 9:06 p.m. at 10th and Wilson Sts. Jason Levingston was arrested and booked at Barton County Jail.

A trespassing was reported at 10:32 p.m. at Walmart.
