A Great Bend man was injured when he lost control of his vehicle Saturday afternoon on K-156 near Holyrood.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, 38-year-old Mario Martinez Arias was northbound on K-156 near Avenue U, just southwest of Holyrood, when for unspecified reasons, Arias lost control of the 1999 Toyota Camry he was driving. The Camry left the road on the north side of the roadway, and entered a field access drive. The vehicle became airborne, struck the north ditch, and came to rest facing south.

Arias was transported to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita with what were believed to be serious injuries. KHP indicated Arias was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash.
