Hoisington man dies in fatal crash; second driver seriously injured
KHP patch

A two-vehicle crash on Saturday in Ness County resulted in a Hoisington man’s death. A Brownell man was taken to Grisell Memorial Hospital in Ransom with what appeared to be serious injuries.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at 1:50 p.m. on July 20 on K-4, 1.8 miles east of K-147.

A 2011 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Sidney Osborne, 70, of Brownell, was traveling west on K-4 when it went left of center and crossed the eastbound lane, entering the south ditch and striking a 2022 Ram 1500 on the driver’s side front corner, causing that vehicle to roll. The second driver was Joseph D. Vasquez, 62, of Hoisington, who was transported to Fitzgerald Funeral Home in Ness City.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts.
