Great Bend Police

Theft of a silver 2010 Dodge Caravan from 1724 10th St. was reported Friday. It was located Saturday afternoon.

Someone broke the glass on the rear door of 308 Chestnut St. and entered the residence, it was reported Friday. A criminal damage to property case was taken.

Someone cut the tires on a pickup on 19th St., it was reported Friday. Loss was $500.

Jaelyn Luce was driving west on 12th St. at 4:49 p.m. Friday and struck Sabrina Carr, who was northbound on Jackson. No one was injured.

Toni Zahn, Hoisington, was backing a vehicle southbound on 10th St. at 7:13 p.m. Friday and struck a vehicle driven by Guadalupe Delgadillo, who was northbound on Grant. Zahn, 20, was arrested for driving with a suspended license. She was released after posting a $500 surety bond.

Damage to the Coke machine in front of 2525 5th St. was reported Saturday. Loss was $1,000.

A hunting bow was stolen from a vehicle at 809 Williams St., it was reported Saturday. Loss was $500.

Mackenzie Malone was driving south on McKinley St. near 10th at 11:24 a.m. Saturday and struck a vehicle driven by Susan Urbina, who pulled out in front of her from a private drive.

A hit-and-run motorist in a silver Buick was westbound on private property at 3220 10th St. at 2 p.m. Saturday and struck a vehicle driven by Amanda Osenbaugh.

Police received reports of shots fired in the vicinity of the 300 block of Buckeye St. at 4:28 p.m. Saturday, and in an alley in the 1400 block of Ninth St. at 7:56 p.m., but did not find anything.

Officers assisted with a fight in the A-pod at the Barton County Jail at 11:40 p.m. Sunday.

 

Great Bend Fire Department

A possible structure fire at the duplex at 2901 and 2903 Paseo Drive was reported at 6:16 p.m. Saturday when someone smelled smoke. The fire department responded and found a smoldering fire in the threshold of a front door, due to a discarded cigarette. There was light smoke in both sides of the duplex. Damage was estimated at $1,000.

There was a small grass fire at 9:34 p.m. Saturday in the yard at 918 Stone St.

Firefighters made four ambulance runs Thursday, nine Friday and six Saturday.

 

Other fire departments

A small fire in the 500 block of West Third St. was extinguished by the Hoisington Fire Department around 7:55 p.m. Friday.

 

Barton County Sheriff

A vehicle backed into another vehicle at the stop sign on NE 50 Road and U.S. 281, around 1 p.m. Friday.

A forced entry burglary at Papa’s Bar and Grill, 1011 Main, Albert, was reported Saturday morning. Someone entered through the back door, taking a cash register and money.

Two vehicles collided on East Barton County Road and NE 90 Ave. at 10 a.m. Saturday when one driver attempted to do a U-turn. No one was injured.

At 9:17 p.m. Sunday, a woman reported her boyfriend kicked her out of a vehicle on U.S. 281 after beating her up. John F. Gray was arrested in Great Bend and booked into the Barton County Jail on charges of aggravated battery. Bond was set at $20,000.
