Great Bend Police

Wednesday reports

A chair was stolen from a garage during a burglary at 2622 16th St.

An iPod was stolen from an unlocked vehicle at 2901 Padeo Dr. Loss was $245.

A billfold and cash were taken from a vehicle at 3221 Forest Ave.

Someone broke into the residence at 1922 Adams St. and stole approximately $200 in change.

A gun was seen on the ice at Vets Lake on Wednesday afternoon. Investigation showed it was a broken plastic toy.

A GPS was stolen from a vehicle at 1312 Jefferson St.

 

Great Bend Fire Department

Firefighters made seven ambulance runs on Wednesday. At 9:05 p.m. they were dispatched to 437 Dogwood St. where a person was stuck on the roof and needed help getting down.

 

Barton County Sheriff

At 11 a.m., the Barton County Sheriff’s Office located a 2005 Chevy Colorado that was stolen out of Great Bend. It was recovered from the Walnut Creek in the 300 block of East Barton County Road.

A vehicle hit a deer in the 900 block of NE 100 Ave. at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.

A vehicle driven by Tanner Stephenson rear-ended a vehicle driven by David Mcguire that was stopped in traffic in front of Barton Community College at 10:05 p.m. Wednesday.

A male walking from Great Bend to Hutchinson at 11:20 p.m. Wednesday got cold so he made a fire in a ditch on U.S. 56 at SE 160 Ave. He also said he needed to be taken to the emergency room for a two-month-old back problem. Ellinwood Fire Department and Emergency Medical Service responded and he was transported to Ellinwood District Hospital. At 1:13 a.m. Thursday EDH called and requesting BCSO transport him to a place to sleep. The man was offered a motel room but asked to be taken back to where he was staying.
