Great Bend Police

A coat and Bible were stolen from a vehicle at 3404 17th St., it was reported Thursday.

 

Great Bend Fire Department

 

Firefighters made four ambulance runs on Thursday. There were no fires.

They responded to a wheat stubble fire a half mile west of Hart’s Corner around 10 a.m. Friday. Battalion Chief John Stettinger said the cause was unknown, but the fire started near the highway and could have been started by a discarded cigarette. Ten to 20 acres burned. Firefighters were at the scene about an hour.
