Great Bend Fire Department

Firefighters responded to four alarms on Tuesday, in addition to making eight ambulance runs.

At 9:38 a.m. they were sent to Barton Community College where a tractor-trailer had jackknifed and punctured the fuel tank.

At 4:25 p.m. they performed a carbon monoxide check at 1055 Warner.

At 5 p.m. there was a small grass fire at 247 East U.S. 56.

At 3:38 a.m. Wednesday, they responded to a CO alarm going off.

 

Barton County Sheriff

A tractor-trailer slid into a parked car outside at BCC, 245 NE 30 Road, at 8:46 a.m. Tuesday.

 

Great Bend Police

Tuesday reports:

Someone cut the tires on a Jeep at 5812 Aspen Dr. Loss was $300.

An individual reported that a subject in a maroon sport utility vehicle struck him in the face while he was trying to get his tag number to report him, around 9:40 a.m. on 10th St.

A license plate was stolen from a car at 1201 10th St.

Someone reportedly broke into the house at 1721 12th St. and took several items.

A sewer auger was reportedly stolen from a storage shed at 3017 10th St. Loss was $3,300.

A hit-and-run vehicle struck a parked vehicle at 1037 Adams St.

A burglary at 708 Coolidge St. was reported.
