Kansas Highway Patrol

George A. Sanders, 64, Stafford, was driving on a Stafford County road at 2 p.m. Wednesday and went off the road to avoid striking a deer. His pickup struck a culvert in the 800 block of Northeast 80 Ave., one mile south and three miles east of Hudson. He was taken to Stafford District Hospital with undetermined injuries.

Sanders was wearing a seat belt.

 

Great Bend Fire Department

 

Firefighters made four ambulance runs and received one false alarm on Wednesday.

 

Great Bend Police

Wednesday reports:

A known person was served a notice to appear in municipal court, for alleged shoplifting at Walmart.

An individual wanted to know if it is legal to sell a shotgun at a garage sale. The answer was yes.

A case was taken for a burglary and theft at 2509 17th St.

 

Barton County Sheriff

Around 7 a.m. Wednesday, a motorist lost control of a Cadillac and failed to negotiate the curve at 65 NE 60 Road. The car went in the ditch and through a fence. The driver left the scene, leaving the car in a pasture. Later that day, Jennifer Sanchez was arrested for leaving the scene, failure to report and driving while suspended. She was released after posting a $1,000 surety bond.

A 14-year-old girl reportedly had consensual sex Saturday at a "hot tub party" in Barton County. This was allegedly video taped and the recording has been circulating through a county school.

Road and Bridge reported reports two Railroad signs missing at NW 110 Road and 30 Ave., RR signs down and damaged at NW 100 Road and 30 Ave., and two more signs missing at NW 110 Road and 20 Ave.
