Great Bend Police

Tools were stolen from a vehicle on 19th St., it was reported last Wednesday. Loss was $600.

A silver can containing collectable coins was found on 10th St. on Thursday. Another individual reported finding some coins from a collection in the street on Forrest Ave. Friday morning.

Shoes and clothes were stolen from a locker at the high school sometime before March 2.

Theft of fuel from 1000 Main was reported at 6:16 p.m. Friday. Loss was $53.

Criminal damage at the Great Bend Cooperative Association, 606 Main St., was discovered Monday morning. Sometime over the weekend, someone climbed to the top of the elevators, causing damage to or with some of the fire extinguishers. Items were also reported stolen.

The Golden Belt Humane Society was dispatched to 1213 Fourth St. at 3:33 p.m. Monday, when the occupant reported a dog in the house.

Vehicles driven by Jena Richardson and Amanda Schnoelin collided at 10th and Harrison St. at 5:42 p.m. Monday.

Vehicles driven by Debra Noffisinger and Danielle Werth collided in the 3200 block of Broadway Ave. at 7:43 p.m. Monday.

A burglary at 2316 12th St. was reported Monday evening. A television, X-box and PlayStation were taken.

At 2:33 a.m. Tuesday, a woman reported breaking her own lock on her door. She was advised there was nothing criminal about it.

 

Barton County Sheriff

A forged check was reported Friday at 244 SE 120 Ave.

Two three-inch ball valves were stolen off oil tanks at 1192 NE 200 Road sometime Saturday night.

An iPod, Olympus camera and Garmin GPS were taken from a vehicle at 712 East Santa Fe in rural Ellinwood, it was reported Sunday.

The BCSO was sent to Stafford County at 8:20 p.m. Monday to assist in the investigation of an armed robbery.

 

Great Bend Fire Department

Firefighters made four ambulance runs last Wednesday, nine Thursday, four Friday, four Saturday, three Sunday and four Monday.

There was one false alarm on Wednesday.

They did a carbon monoxide check at 1421 12th St. on Thursday.

On Saturday they responded to an unauthorized burn at 437 Dogwood St.

There was a trash can fire at 815 Holland St. on Sunday, caused by someone dumping some hot coals in a trash can. Damage was estimated at $100.
