The Barton County Sheriff’s Office responded to an injury crash at 3:05 p.m. Thursday on U.S. 281, north of Great Bend near 281 Auto Salvage (561 North U.S. 281). A 2014 Buick Verano driven by Kenzie Wolf, 19, Hoisington, rear-ended a 2018 International semitrailer driven by Christopher Muench, 44, of Hays. Both vehicles were northbound and the semi had stopped in traffic waiting for another vehicle to turn west into a business on U.S. 281.

Wolf complained of injuries to the face and was treated by Hoisington EMS at the scene. She refused transport to a hospital. The car was towed due to damage sustained in the crash.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts.
