Great Bend Fire Department

Firefighters made four ambulance runs on Friday, four Saturday and 11 Sunday.

At 8:28 a.m. Friday they checked a possible gas leak at 1608 Heizer St. There was a small grass fire half a mile west of NW 50 Ave. at 2:48 p.m., and a possible structure fire at 1401 Ninth St. was reported at 8:55 p.m., but no fire was found.

There was a burn complaint at 805 Monroe St. at 10:23 a.m. on Saturday and a possible gas leak at 4010 10th St. at 10:27 a.m. Saturday.

Someone started a fire in a trash bin behind the Auto Body Shop at 1816 20th St., around 8:50 p.m. Saturday. Loss was $50.

Firefighters checked out a smoke smell at 1608 Heizer St. at 5:52 a.m. Sunday.

 

Great Bend Police

"Fake money" was received at 4001 10th St., it was reported Friday.

A juvenile sex offense was reported Friday.

Two backing vehicles, driven by Wayne Rathbun and Amanda Neuschafer, occupied the same space in the 3900 block of Forest St. at 12:32 p.m. Friday.

Vehicles driven by Latonia Houtchens and Jesse Gomez collided at 20th St. and the U.S. 281 Bypass on Friday afternoon.

Theft of a green 1994 Chrysler Concord from 1101 1st St. was reported Friday.

A case was taken for review after people were allegedly seen smoking in a Great Bend bar Friday night.

A burglary at 2123 Jefferson St. was reported Saturday. Electronic items were taken from the residence; loss was $425.

A 20-year-old male allegedly stole two 30-packs of Bud Light beer from 2334 Main St. at 3:31 a.m. on Saturday. He was located in the park with the beer and arrested for minor in consumption. He was also served a notice to appear in municipal court for theft.

Travis Begaye, 18, was arrested for no driver’s license and obstruction after reportedly giving a false name early Saturday. Two juveniles were arrested for curfew violation and released to their parents.

Windows were broken on two feed trucks at Second and Main, it was reported Saturday.

Someone damaged the ignition switches on two vehicles and stole a garage door opener at 5605 Eisenhower Ave., it was reported Saturday.

The windshield on a pickup at 1411 Morphy St. was broken out, it was reported Saturday. The windshield on a Buick and a van at 2316 Forest Ave. were also broken out.

A burglary at 1910 Madison St. was reported Saturday. Several items were taken from the residence.

Theft of a cell phone from 619 Main was reported Saturday.

A burglary at 2900 Broadway Ave. was reported Saturday. Items were stolen from the garage.

Someone cut a tire on a Jeep at 18th and Van Buren on Saturday.

 

Barton County Sheriff

An alleged sex offense in the county was reported Friday.

A party in the 100 block of South Washington was dispersed shortly after 10 p.m. Friday. There were complaints that several shots had been fired.

Property was taken from a vehicle at 564 SE 50 Road, it was reported Friday. A 42-inch LCD flat-screen TV and a 9.25-inch flat-screen headrest monitor were taken.
