Crime Stoppers

On Oct. 24, a residence at 2711 Washington in Great Bend was burglarized between the hours of 5 and 10:30 p.m. Items stolen included a Samsung camera, prescription Oakley sunglasses and Cellucor-brand supplement drink mix. Loss was $875. Great Bend Fire Department

Firefighters made six ambulance runs Wednesday.

At 3:17 p.m. they were dispatched to a gas leak at 2901 16th St., caused by a gas line that was cut by workers.

There was a ditch fire at 100 NW 60 Ave. at 4:14 p.m. Chief Mike Napolitano said the high winds fueled the fire.

Firefighters also responded to a fire on the river dike at Second and Fry at 8 p.m.


Barton County Sheriff

A vehicle hit a deer at NW 110 Avenue and west K-4 at 7:15 p.m. Wednesday.

A campus security officer at Barton Community College was checking a male’s room late Wednesday, looking for a person that was egging vehicles in the parking lot. This resulted in an arrest of an individual for possession of suspected narcotics with intent to distribute.

A car hit a deer on U.S. 56 at milepost 208 at 5:41 a.m. Thursday.
