Pawnee Rock man seriously injured in rollover
Clifford W. Allen II, 22, of Pawnee Rock, was ejected from a pickup that overturned in Barton County, the Kansas Highway Patrol reported Saturday. The exact time of the one-vehicle accident was not known.
Allen lost control of a GMC pickup in the 900 block of NW 80 Ave., one mile south and one mile east of Olmitz. The accident was discovered at 2 a.m. Saturday.
He was taken to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita. On Saturday afternoon a hospital spokesman said Allen was in critical condition.
Crime Stoppers
Great Bend Floral, 3414 Broadway, was burglarized sometime between 1:42 p.m. Oct. 17 and 8:30 a.m. Oct. 18. Police Chief Dean Akings reports a fire safe, cash, credit cards, a key and employee files were taken, and loss was about $1,500.

Great Bend Fire Department
At 7:28 a.m. Thursday firefighters responded to a possible car fire at Allied Cementing on North Main. The fire had been extinguished by the owner, who was trying to jump start his a vehicle when he saw the small fire and used an extinguisher to put is out.
At 3:56 p.m., firefighters were sent to 683 U.S. 56 for a carbon monoxide check, and found the cook stove to be the source of the CO.
Firefighters also made five ambulance runs on Thursday.
Great Bend Police
A Coca-Cola machine was stolen from a residence at 3200 Forest Ave., it was reported Thursday. Loss was in excess of $2,000.
Two counterfeit $20 bills were found in the deposit at Kwik Shop, 3907 Broadway Ave., Thursday morning.
Bryan Scott was backing from a driveway at 3:06 p.m. Thursday and struck a vehicle that was southbound on Morton near Ninth St.
A case on four forged checks was taken.
A bar fight at Charlie’s Place, 1109 Main, resulted in several people being arrested for disorderly conduct, around 11 p.m. Thursday.
Barton County Sheriff
A vehicle hit a deer in the 500 block of SE 50 Road at 7:45 a.m. Thursday.
Several people were fighting at 11:49 p.m. Thursday at 1413 10th St., but all refused to file charges. One subject had cuts to the face but refused an ambulance.
