Barton County Sheriff
A motorist called 911 at 2:52 a.m. Friday saying he was traveling north on McKinley St. (NW 20 Road at NW 10 Ave.) and a “young man” with a lighter tried to flag him down. The subject was trying to walk home and got lost in the fog. He was given a ride home in the 900 block of Stone Street.

Great Bend Police
Officers handled unrelated juvenile complaints at 1:54 p.m. and 7:42 p.m. Thursday .
A burglary at 1809 Jackson St. was reported Thursday. Someone took several items out of the residence.
An 18-year-old male suspected of shoplifting at Walmart on Thursday was served a notice to appear in municipal court.
A gas skip at 3620 10th St. was reported at 6:12 p.m. Thursday.
A vehicle hit a gas meter on private property on 19th St. at 12:08 a.m. Friday.
The water department responded to a water main break in the 1800 block of Baker Ave. at 2:05 a.m. Friday.
Criminal damage to the side of a door at 1700 Stone St. was reported at 4:59 a.m. Friday.
