Great Bend Fire Department
Firefighters made seven ambulance runs on Friday, five Saturday and five Sunday.
Other calls included Friday’s carbon monoxide alarm at the Highland Hotel, and at 3:30 p.m. Saturday they were dispatched to the High Rise, 1101 Kansas Ave., to assist a person stuck in the elevator.

Kansas Highway Patrol
A LaCrosse man was injured Sunday while driving a motorcycle on Interstate 70 in Trego County, three miles west of WaKeeney. Jeffery A. Bunch, 43, was westbound passing a semitrailer at 3:36 p.m. when a gust of wind blew the Suzuki motorcycle into the median. He was not wearing a helmet. Bunch was taken to the Trego County-Lemke Memorial Hospital in WaKeeney with undetermined injuries.

Great Bend Police
A resident reported someone using his Social Security number for income tax purposes.
An individual who wanted to report someone stealing his birth certificate when he lived in Heizer was referred to the Barton County Sheriff’s Office.
Two males reportedly walked out of 3503 10th St. without paying for a $10 12-pack of beer at 4:44 p.m. Friday.
A vehicular burglary at 1901 Cottonwood Lane was reported Friday. Someone stole hand tools and clothing from a GMC Suburban. Loss was $875.
Great Bend Regional Hospital, 514 Cleveland, treated an injured male at 5:35 a.m. Saturday. He reported being battered at a party by unknown subjects.
A semitrailer was southbound on K-96 turning west onto 10th St. at 8:24 a.m. Saturday and struck a vehicle driven by Brent Jezek, who was stopped on 10th St. The semi left the scene.
Criminal damage to property at 2908 17th St. was discovered on Saturday. The reporting party said someone shot the front of his residence sometime during the past 10 days. Damage was $500.
Theft of tools from a winch truck at 604 10th St. was reported Saturday. Loss was $700.
A vehicle driven by Becky Wornkey struck a fire hydrant at 1615 10th St. at 6:12 p.m. Saturday.
An individual attempted Saturday night to report criminal damage to a vehicle at 906 McKinley St., but all units were busy because of the severe weather. The report was made Sunday morning: Someone took the keys to the vehicle and rolled down all of the windows during the storm.
A vehicle struck another vehicle on private property on Eighth St. and left the scene Saturday night. The suspect vehicle was located but the driver could not be found. The owner of the vehicle was contacted Sunday night.
A $31.13 gas skip at 1001 Main was reported at 4:53 p.m. Sunday.
Theft of $80 from McDonald’s, 3307 10th St., was reported Sunday night.

Barton County Sheriff
A car was found in a ditch at 198 North U.S. 281 at 10:09 a.m. Friday.
A stolen go-kart was recovered Friday.
Burglary of a storage unit at 989 East U.S. 56-A was reported Friday.
A pickup hit a deer at 400 K-4, approximately half a mile from U.S. 281, at 6:07 a.m. Saturday.
A car hit a deer on SW 80 Ave. and West U.S. 56 at 6:41 a.m. Saturday.
A burglary in progress at 210 Rock St., Pawnee Rock, was reported at 12:55 p.m. Sunday. According to the BCSO service call log, a “suspect was found and arrested with items in hand.” Allen King, Pawnee Rock was booked into the Barton County Jail in lieu of $20,000 bond.
