Great Bend Fire/EMS
Firefighters made seven ambulance runs Wednesday.
At 10:06 a.m., a unit responded to an automatic alarm at 1102 Morphy St. The owner advised there was no fire and that she was changing the batteries when the alarm was activated.
At 12:11 p.m. units responded to the compost site where a pile of mulch was smoldering. Mike Crawford from the Street Department was notified and he was going to get some equipment to stir the pile and remove the smoldering compost.

Barton County Sheriff
BCSO assisted the Hoisington Police Department when a theft was reported Wednesday evening at Casey’s, 250 S. Main, South Hoisington. The Great Bend Police Department was asked to look for a suspect vehicle.
A narcotics violation was reported in the area of 12th and Main in Great Bend at 4:23 a.m. Thursday and a K-9 unit was dispatched at 5:03 a.m. A woman was arrested by GBPD for possession of suspected methamphetamine.

A search warrant was issued at 12:18 p.m. Wednesday in the 400 block of Walnut Street. A notice to appear (NTA) in court was signed for charges of theft of services from Wheatland Electric and the City of Great Bend.
A dog was reported stolen at 3001 Gano St.
A bike was reported stolen at Great Bend High School, 2027 Morton.
A sex offense was reported at 5:06 p.m.
A known person allegedly shoplifted items from Dillons, 4107 10th St. An NTA was signed and served.
