Great Bend Fire Department

 

Firefighters made seven ambulance runs Tuesday and four Wednesday.

They responded to a structure fire at 3710 McKinney Drive around 3 p.m. on Wednesday. Fire Chief Mike Napolitano said they found heavy fire and smoke coming from a pool shed that is attached to the house. The fire was quickly extinguished with fire damage limited to the pool shed area and light smoke in the residence. Electrical problems are believed to have caused the fire, which resulted in approximately $10,000 in damage.

 

Great Bend Police

A known person allegedly stole $70 cash from someone at Travelodge, 3200 10th St., it was reported Wednesday. He was served a notice to appear in municipal court.

In a separate case, someone else reported a burglary at the Travelodge, saying tools had been stolen from the supply room. Loss was $2,000.

As an officer was arresting a woman on a warrant from Pawnee County, around 8 p.m. Wednesday, she took off running from 4100 10th St. She was also charged with obstruction when she was booked into the Barton County Jail.

A hit-and-run vehicle struck a parked vehicle at 2614 Forest Ave., it was reported Wednesday night.

A burglary at 709 Stone St. was reported Thursday morning. A laptop computer was damaged

 

Barton County Sheriff

More information was released about the burglary at Mo’s Place Brew & Grill Club in Beaver that was reported Wednesday morning. Someone broke the lock off the front door and stole beer and soda from the building.

A cat set off a burglar alarm Wednesday night at a shop building south of Great Bend.
