Great Bend Fire Department
Firefighters made three ambulance runs Thursday, 10 Friday, six Saturday and six Sunday.
At 11:55 p.m. Friday they were dispatched to Third and Pine for a box of fireworks burning in the middle of the intersection. The Great Bend Police Department received numerous fireworks complaints over the weekend.
At 4:45 p.m. Saturday, firefighters were dispatched to a fire at a shelter belt a quarter mile west of U.S. 281 and SE 60 Road. Chief Mike Napolitano said the west end of the shelter belt was on fire, along with a pickup in the trees that was also on fire. “It appeared that it had been wrecked,” he said. “There was no one in the pick-up and the sheriff was trying to locate the owner. The pickup was a total loss.”

A burglary at 1426 10th St. was reported Thursday. Someone entered the residence and took items
A counterfeit bill case was taken Thursday.
Both driver-side windows were broken on a Chevy Silverado at 1519 Cherry Lane, it was reported Friday. Loss was $450.
A theft case was taken after someone allegedly picked up an individual’s prescription without permission.
A vehicle driven by Betty Robinson was eastbound in the 3400 block of 10th St. at 12:40 p.m. Friday and struck a vehicle driven by Jessica Rosenburg, who was pulling from a private drive.
A shoplifting case at 4107 10th St. was reported Friday.
Someone passed a false check, it was reported Friday.
Criminal damage to property at 209 Hickory St. was reported Friday.
At 9:50 p.m., police received a report of two males fighting at 1100 Coolidge St. Casey Roberts, 26, was contacted and then attempted to run from officers. Roberts was arrested and booked into the Barton County Jail for obstruction and disorderly contact. He was released Saturday after posting a $1,000 surety bond.
The windshield on a Ford Mustang at 2212 Heizer St. was broken, it was reported Saturday.
Someone damaged a window screen at 1601 Holland St.
Theft of items from a storage shed at 1709 Stone St. was reported.
A motorist in a brown sport utility vehicle failed to pay for fuel at 1315 10th St. Saturday evening.

Barton County Sheriff
A motorist sustained a possible bkoken ankle in a one-vehicle accident at 50 NW 20 Road and 20 Road at 7:12 a.m. Friday.
Galen Lloyd was driving in the 2200 block of NE 110 Ave. at 11:14 a.m. Friday and hit a calf. There was no damage to the truck, but the cattle guard was pushed back and the calf had to be put down, per its owner.
A burglary at 2318 Railroad Ave. was reported Friday. Several items were missing.
A vehicle hit a deer on NE 90 Road and North U.S. 281 at 9:12 p.m. Friday.
A stop sign was knocked down at Railroad Ave. and West U.S. 56, it was discovered Friday night.
A car hit a deer on U.S. 281 near mile post 108 at 2:13 a.m. Saturday.
A vehicle hit a deer in the 600 block of NW 130 Ave. at 9:15 p.m. Saturday.
