Great Bend Fire DepartmentFirefighters made three ambulance runs Thursday, 10 Friday, six Saturday and six Sunday.At 11:55 p.m. Friday they were dispatched to Third and Pine for a box of fireworks burning in the middle of the intersection. The Great Bend Police Department received numerous fireworks complaints over the weekend.At 4:45 p.m. Saturday, firefighters were dispatched to a fire at a shelter belt a quarter mile west of U.S. 281 and SE 60 Road. Chief Mike Napolitano said the west end of the shelter belt was on fire, along with a pickup in the trees that was also on fire.
