Great Bend Police
Thursday reports:
A vehicle driven by Francis Huffman was southbound on Frey St. turning west onto 10th at 9:39 a.m. and struck a vehicle driven by Bruce Johnston, who was westbound on 10th.
A hit-and-run vehicle struck a 2011 Ford pickup in a parking lot at 800 10th St.
A known person allegedly stole $120 in items from Walmart. The items were returned and the suspect was served a notice to appear in municipal court.
A driver’s license was found on the lawn of the courthouse and booked into "found property."
A woman was served a notice to appear for allegedly obtaining a prescription unlawfully.
A Great Bend resident reported someone got her credit card and charged $1,000 on it.
A Yamaha YZinger 90cc motorcycle was stolen from the yard at 1105 Morphy St. Loss was $450.
A vehicle driven by Bernard Schneweis was southbound on McKinley St. turning left at 6:03 p.m. and struck a vehicle driven by Nicholas Elliot, who was northbound on McKinley turning right onto Broadway.
A hit-and-run vehicle struck a 2001 Ford van parked at 3907 Broadway.
A possible burglary in the 2300 block of McKinley was reported at 4:51 a.m. Friday.
Barton County Sheriff
A transient man was given a ride to Hoisington from Bissell’s Point Road (NE 30 Road) and U.S. 281 at 8:12 a.m. Thursday, due to the weather.
A vehicle hit a deer on NW 20 Road at NW 70 Ave. at 11:24 a.m. Thursday. Kansas Highway Patrol responded.
Around 6:20 p.m. Thursday, a woman reported being beaten and thrown out of a vehicle – or pulled out by her hair – and left in the county by a known female from Albert. She said she was not sure where it happened but was able to walk a short distance to a residence in the 500 block of NW 100 Ave. Her only known injury was a fat lip and she declined medical treatment.
