Great Bend Fire Department Firefighters made seven ambulance runs Tuesday and eight Wednesday. At 7:20 p.m. Tuesday they extinguished some wood burning in a 55 gallon drum at 715 Heizer St. At 1:02 p.m. Wednesday they were dispatched to 514 Morton St., where a pile of wood that was too close to a wood-burning stove caught on fire. Damage was minimal.
