Great Bend Fire Department

Firefighters made seven ambulance runs Tuesday and eight Wednesday.

At 7:20 p.m. Tuesday they extinguished some wood burning in a 55 gallon drum at 715 Heizer St.

At 1:02 p.m. Wednesday they were dispatched to 514 Morton St., where a pile of wood that was too close to a wood-burning stove caught on fire. Damage was minimal.

 

Great Bend Police

Wednesday reports:

Someone spray painted two pickup beds at 2915 Forest Ave.

An aggravated battery at 5907 Eisenhower Court that allegedly occurred on Oct. 25 was reported.

A couple of checks written on a closed account were received at 5320 10th St.

A subject was allegedly trying to fill an altered prescription at 3515 Broadway.

A known person allegedly stole an individual’s check and tired to cash it.

 

Barton County Sheriff

A man was cited for several hunting violations in the 200 block of SW 20 Ave. on Wednesday evening.
