Great Bend Fire Department

Firefighters made two ambulance runs on Tuesday. There were no fires.

Tuesday reports:

Someone cut a fence at Second and Maple. A subject later supplied a video of a subject going through the hole in the fence. A separate case was taken after it was discovered someone cut the fence in the 1400 block of Second St. Lt. Bill Browne said the fence protecting the flood control dike is routinely vandalized by people who ride four-wheelers, which is believed to be the case here.

A hit and run vehicle struck a parked car at 1623 Stone St.

Robert Krause was backing a vehicle in the alley behind the 3100 block of 12th St. at noon and struck a vehicle driven by Linda Sherman, who was northbound.

A gas skip at 2716 10th St. was reported at 12:23 p.m.

Checks were stolen from 3310 17th St. and forged.

Carolyn Abercrombier was backing a vehicle on 12th St. at 3:53 p.m. and struck a vehicle driven by Deborah Alseike, who was stopped in traffic.

A male called the police department wanting to know if he was a suspect in a burglary case. He was referred to a detective.

Cigarettes were stolen from Ampride, 2302 10th St.

 

Barton County Sheriff

A case of sexting was reported Tuesday. A juvenile male allegedly sent a juvenile female obscene photos on her phone.

A non-injury accident occurred at 5:28 p.m. Tuesday when a motorist in a car reportedly pulled out in front of a pickup on South U.S. 281 and SE 20 Road.

A pickup hit a deer on SE 20 Road and SE 130 Ave. (two miles east of Ellinwood) at 9:26 p.m. Tuesday. Kansas Highway Patrol responded.

Forgery of checks from a Pawnee Rock residence was reported, and a roommate of the alleged victim was arrested around 12:05 a.m. Wednesday.
