Barton County Sheriff

A male who was battered was treated at the Great Bend Regional Hospital Emergency Room on Wednesday morning. He said he thought it happened in the county.

An unknown person on an all terrain vehicle caused $2,800 in damages to a corn field at 500 SW 30 Ave., it was reported Wednesday.

 

Great Bend Police

Wednesday, July 20

A burglary and theft from a vehicle occurred at 2813 Gano St.

A vehicle tag was stolen from 2206 28th St.

Street Department was called to remove a cabinet from road in the 1000 block of Frey St. at 4 p.m.

A possible phone scam was reported.

A vehicle driven by Tryal Alexander was westbound on 21st St. at 4:29 p.m. and struck a parked vehicle.

A purse was stolen from a vehicle at 711 Baker Ave.

 

Kansas Highway Patrol

A Chevrolet Cavalier driven by Kyla M. Steenson, 19, Wichita, was westbound on K-140 in Ellsworth County at 3:56 p.m. Wednesday, and stopped at the stop sign for the K-156 junction. She then pulled out from the stop sign and was struck by a northbound Dodge Journey driven by Earlene F. Heimiller, 76, of Abilene. The Dodge rolled over and struck a PT Cruiser driven by Kassie J. Grothusen, 20, of Ellsworth, who was southbound on K-156. Steenson and Heimiller were taken to Ellsworth County Medical Center with undetermined injuries, and Grothusen drove herself to the hospital. All were wearing seat belts.
