Great Bend Fire Department
Firefighters made six ambulance runs Wednesday, four Thursday, four Friday, 10 Saturday and four Sunday.
On Wednesday there was a fire on the river and a stubble field fire east of Fort Zarah at 10:30 p.m.
At 1:17 a.m. Thursday there was a fire in a trash bin at 1701 Main. At 5:46 a.m. there was a gas leak at 615 Odell St. and at 7:27 p.m. firefighters responded to a yard on fire at 320 Plum St. That fire was caused by fireworks.
At 3:18 p.m. Friday firefighters responded to St. Rose Ambulatory & Surgical Center, 3515 Broadway Ave., where a cigar butt caught some landscaping material on fire.
At 10:52 p.m. Friday they responded to NE 20 Ave. and NE 50 Road to assist the Hoisington Fire Department with a stubble field fire.
At 8:34 a.m. Saturday they responded to the 100 block of Overland Trail for an illegal burn in process, and at 11:06 a.m. they responded to 986 SW 60 Road to assist Pawnee Rock on a stubble field fire caused by lightning.

Great Bend Police
A vehicle driven by Dorris McFarren was eastbound in the St. Rose parking lot, 3515 Broadway, at 10:52 a.m. Friday and hit some landscaping, then struck a parked vehicle.
Fred McNett was backing a vehicle from a private drive and struck a parked vehicle at 2525 16th St. at 1:40 p.m. Friday.
A battery and theft case at 2910 18th St. was reported Friday.
A vehicle driven by Stormy Flenner was eastbound on 16th St. at 5:05 p.m. Friday and struck a vehicle driven by Audray Clark, who was northbound on Williams.
A vehicle driven by Cory Detter was southbound at 11:01 a.m. Friday and struck a parked vehicle at 1705 Baker Ave.
Criminal damage to a vehicle at 1036 Van Buren was reported Friday.
A CD case containing compact discs was found on 24th St. and booked as found property early Saturday.
Theft of a barricade from a block party at 4827 Camelot West was reported Sunday.
A report of theft and criminal trespass at Dillon’s Store 51, 4107 10th St. was made Sunday afternoon. Notices to appear in municipal court were signed and served on a suspect.
An employee at the Dillon’s Store No. 3, 1811 Main, reported getting a counterfeit $5 bill.
Theft of a 1987 Ford Bronco from 1921 Madison St. was reported Sunday. Loss was $2,800.
A suspect was served a notice to appear in municipal court after reportedly taking items from Walmart, 3503 10th St.
A burglary at 1910 Madison St. was reported Sunday. A Toshiba laptop computer was taken from the residence.
Theft of a black and blue Mongoose 20-inch BMX bike from 1715 Morton St. was reported Sunday.
A known person allegedly stole a purse from 809 Maple St., it was reported early Monday.

Barton County Sheriff
The Road Department was contacted Friday morning after it was reported that someone had dumped a big-screen TV in a ditch in the 500 block of NE 40 Road.
A window in a door at 700 Pawnee Ave. was broken, it was reported Friday.
A hit-and-run vehicle struck a power pole on NW 60 Ave. and NW 130 Road, it was reported Friday evening.
A vehicle hit a deer Friday night in the 300 block of NW 50 Ave. Kansas Highway Patrol (KHP) responded.
A vehicle was reportedly keyed sometime Friday night while it was parked in the Fine Arts parking lot at Barton Community College.
A vehicle hit a deer in the 400 block of SE 60 Ave., it was reported Saturday. KHP responded.
