Great Bend Police

Vehicles driven by Rebecca Demel and Rosalyn Borchers collided at McKinley and Forest at 5:05 p.m. Friday.

A vehicle driven by Dustin Parker was northbound on Frey at 5:09 p.m. Friday, and struck a vehicle driven by Diana Waterhouse, who was stopped at the stop sign at Broadway and Frey.

At 9:54 p.m. Saturday, police received a report of someone setting a plastic bottle on fire at 2101 U.S. 281 Bypass. An arson case was taken.

Theft of a Glock handgun from 1302 Monroe St. was reported Monday.

On Tuesday, police began receiving reports of people continuing to shoot fireworks.

 

Great Bend Fire Department

Firefighters made five ambulance runs on Friday, six Saturday, two Sunday and four Monday.

They responded to an automatic alarm Sunday at StoneRidge.

 

Claflin Fire Department

There was a ditch fire in the 500 block of K-156 and just north of the rest area, at 1 a.m. on Saturday.

 

Barton County Sheriff

Theft of barbecue equipment from 606 East Lakeview Dr. occurred sometime Thursday night.

A sexual battery of a 14-year-old was reported Friday in Barton County.

A motorist backed into another vehicle at 159 North U.S. 281, at 11:21 a.m. Friday.

Hoisington Ambulance responded to what was initially reported as an injury accident on the curves at NW 10 Ave. and NW 110 Road, a dirt road on the north side of Hoisington, at 9:21 p.m. Friday. The sheriff’s office and Kansas Highway Patrol also responded. Although the vehicle rolled and had to be towed, the driver reported receiving only cuts in the accident.

At 10:24 p.m. Saturday, five deputies responded to a disturbance between two men in Pawnee Rock. The argument was verbal but witnesses reported one man dried to run over the other. However, neither party was interested in prosecuting.

A Toyota sport utility vehicle driven by Sherry Bahr hit a deer 1.5 miles east of Albert, at NW 60 Road and NW K-96, at 2:06 a.m. Monday.

A pickup driven by Cole Birzer hit a deer on North U.S. 281 at mile marker 109 at 11:02 p.m. Monday.
