Great Bend Fire Department
Firefighters made four ambulance runs on Thursday. At 12:30 a.m. they extinguished a grass fire on the dike at Second and Maple.

Accident update:
At 9 p.m. Monday, Gary Parr, Great Bend, was driving a motorcycle north on Madison St. and Betty Hood, Great Bend, was eastbound on Ninth St. in a Ford passenger car. Hood did not see the motorcycle and failed to yield, resulting in a collision. Parr was taken to Great Bend Regional Hospital by Great Bend EMS with a broken ankle.
Thursday reports:
A hit-and-run vehicle struck a tree at 2401 Railroad Ave.
Police assisted Social and Rehabilitation Services with a home visit in the south part of town at 9:36 a.m. A minor child was taken from the home due to the conditions of the residence and for the safety of the child.
At 12:26 p.m., a vehicle driven by Douglas Burt was eastbound on Sunset Pl. and struck a vehicle driven by Marilyn Schartz, who was northbound.
A resident reported being a victim of fraud after cashing a check that was mailed to him.
A hit-and-run vehicle struck a parked vehicle at 212 Pine St.
A green BMX bike was stolen from 11th St. Loss was $70.
A vehicle driven by Traci Kershner was westbound on 18th St. at 5:05 p.m. and struck a vehicle driven by Branlin Bretz, who was southbound on Heizer.
A known person allegedly stole items from an individual at 2115 Sunset Road and later threatened the person.
Barton County Sheriff
Someone shot a BB hole in the front window of Kaiser Service, 652 South Main, Hoisington, sometime between 6 p.m. Tuesday and 6 a.m. Wednesday.
Kansas Highway Patrol
A Kinsley woman was injured in a one-vehicle accident at 7:50 p.m. Friday on Interstate 70, 17 miles west of Salina in Lincoln County. Joseph F. Rennaker V, 16, Kinsley, was westbound in a Pontiac Grand Prix and went off the roadway for an unknown reason. After the car entered the median, the driver over-corrected and traveled back across westbound lanes of traffic into the north ditch. The car overturned and came to rest on its wheels. Rennaker was not injured. Passenger Traci C. Daubert, 37, Kinsley, was taken to Salina Regional Health Center with undetermined injuries. Both were wearing seat belts.
