Great Bend Police
Wednesday reports:
Tools and golf clubs were stolen from a garage at 5505 Comanche Road. Loss was $1,900.
Motorist Robert Weaver was backing from a private drive in the 3300 block of 18th St. and struck a parked vehicle.
A Virgin Mary statue was stolen from the front yard at 2111 Hubbard St. Loss was $250.
Fuel was stolen from 1315 10th St. at 8:30 p.m. Loss was $50.
Great Bend Fire Department
Firefighters made five ambulance runs on Tuesday and three on Wednesday.
Barton County Sheriff
A Chevrolet Uplander hit a deer on East K-4 at NE 140 Ave. (half a mile east of the Millers of Claflin barn), at 9:50 a.m. Wednesday.
A PT Cruiser hit a deer somewhere between Dundee and Pawnee Rock on U.S. 56, shortly before 10 p.m. Wednesday. Kansas Highway Patrol responded.
At 12:08 a.m. Thursday, a gray Plymouth was found in the middle of NE 10 Ave. at NE 10 Road, and it was abandoned. After an unsuccessful attempt to locate a telephone number for the owner, authorities had the vehicle towed.
