Barton County Sheriff

Monday reports:

A condenser coil worth about $450 was stolen from a yard at 4 NW 30 Road Area 1.

Two stop signs were down, at NE 160 Road and NE 20 Ave., and at NE 130 Road and NE 30 Ave. County shops were contacted.

A car hit a deer in the 1700 block of NE 30 Ave. around 9:54 p.m.

 

Great Bend Police

Monday reports:

A faceplate for a car stereo was booked into found property.

At 7:30 a.m., a man reported that a pit bulldog had tried to attack an 11-year-old girl on her way to summer school, in the 1900 block of Adams St. He said he was able to get the dog away from her with his garden tool, and that the dog had gone to its owner’s garage in that block.

Someone charged $191 on a Great Bend resident’s credit card.

A hit-and-run vehicle struck a parked vehicle in the 5900 block of Hemlock Drive.

A 40-year-old male allegedly broke the right front window on a vehicle at 700 Frey St. and the rear window on a vehicle at 3120 10th St.

Golden Belt Humane Society picked up two pit bulldogs running at large in the 2900 block of 21st St. at 11:05 a.m.

A deer was running loose in the area of the 2300 block of Broadway Ave. at 3:10 p.m. At 3:28 p.m. a deer was in a back yard in the 1400 block of Park Ave. An injured deer was reported in the 1400 block of 16th St. at 8:46 p.m.

At 4:22 p.m., a man was cited for allegedly shoplifting some batteries at Dillon’s, 4107 10th St.

A rototiller was stolen from a storage shed at 3118 Washington. Loss was $400.

A 3-year-old old male was transported to the Great Bend Regional Hospital at 4:52 p.m. Monday after nearly drowning in a swimming pool at an undisclosed address.

A hit-and-run vehicle struck a building at 705 10th St. Then, at 7:11 p.m., a man reported someone had taken his motorcycle and ran it into the side of that building.

Theft of motor fuel from 2334 Main St. was reported at 11:30 p.m. Loss was $55.

 

Great Bend Fire Department

Firefighters made five ambulance runs on Monday. There were no fires.
