Barton County Sheriff

A car driven by Debbie Schuckman was westbound on northwest K-96 at 9:57 p.m. Thursday when it hit a coyote.

A vehicle driven by Charles Lisenby hit a deer at 6:09 a.m. Friday, just before entering Albert on K-96.

 

Great Bend Fire Department

Firefighters made six ambulance runs on Thursday. There were no fires.

 

Kansas Highway Patrol

A 4-year-old girl was taken to Ellsworth Medical Center on Thursday after the pickup she was a passenger in went off K-140 in Ellsworth County. The accident occurred about seven miles west of Brookville. The Nissan Titan driven by Dennis L. Gent, 36, of Brookville, went off the road at 7:20 p.m. After it went in the ditch he over-corrected and the pickup came back on the highway but rolled onto its top. Mr. Gent and the girl were both wearing safety restraints. He was not injured, but she was taken to the hospital with a possible injury.

 

Great Bend Police

Thursday reports:

A Samsung flat-screen 32-inch television was stolen when a house at 1807 Cottonwood Lane was burglarized.

Beer was stolen from the Kwik Shop at 3907 Broadway Ave. sometime Wednesday night.

A burglary and theft of property at 1823 Madison St. was also reported.
