A hit-and-run vehicle struck a fence at 312 Hickory St.
A burglary at 212 Chestnut St. was reported Sunday. Items were taken from the house.
A hit-and-run vehicle struck a mailbox at 2204 Franklin St.
A vehicle driven by Bailey Tracy was northbound on Main turning west onto Ninth St. at 4:40 p.m. Sunday and struck a fence.
A burglary at 3807 12th St. was reported Sunday. Items were taken from the house.
A vehicle driven by Gary Trotnic was backing from a driveway at 1814 Adams St. at 5:36 p.m. Sunday and struck a parked vehicle.
Barton County Sheriff
A vehicle hit a deer on K-96 at NE 40 Ave. at 9:58 p.m. Friday.
A woman described as “under the influence” reportedly tried to force her way into an apartment that wasn’t hers at 11 p.m. Friday. A friend took her to her house to sleep it off.
A pickup hit a cow in the road on NE 140 Road and NE 120 Ave. around 11:42 p.m. Friday. This was a possible injury accident.
Someone reportedly entered a residence at All Seasons Mobile Home Community, 4 NW 30 Road, and took pages from a notebook.
A woman reported being battered Friday night at 206 North U.S. 281.
Kansas Highway Patrol
Two people were taken to Salina Regional Medical Center on Monday following a two-vehicle accident at 9:53 a.m. in Ellsworth County. The accident occurred on Interstate 70, about half a mile west of the K-232 Junction.
Both vehicles were eastbound on I-70 entering the construction zone, where the highway narrows from two lanes to one. A 2002 Hyundai Sonata driven by Layla J. Berguland, 39, Colorado Springs, Colo., ran into the rear of a 2006 Honda passenger car driven by Wendy L. Duncan-Burkinshaw, 52, Lake Jackson, Texas. Berguland was not injured. Duncan-Burkinshaw and her passenger, Mark S. Burkinshaw, 54, also of Lake Jackson, were transported by Ellsworth County EMS to Salina with undetermined injuries. All persons were wearing seat belts.
