Great Bend Fire Department

Firefighters made four ambulance runs on Monday. At 1:34 p.m. they responded to 207 south Main for a gasoline leak.

At 4:06 a.m. Tuesday they were dispatched to 374 SW 10 Road for a possible electrical fire, and found a problem with an electrical transformer.

 

Great Bend Police

Monday reports:

The window to a vehicle at 1919 Heizer St. was broken sometime Sunday night.

A hit-and-run vehicle backed into a parked vehicle at 2300 Broadway.

Three packs of cigarettes were stolen from a vehicle at 1609 Heizer St. Loss was $15.

Two dirt bikes were stolen from a garage at 1801 Eighth St. Loss was $2,200.

A vehicle driven by Terry Gress was northbound on Frey St. at 3:26 p.m. and struck the railroad crossing arm.

Someone cut the rope and removed a dog from the yard at 2422 Lakin.

A Life Alert system was taken from a residence at 201 Plum St.

Motorist Beverly Kates backed into a parked vehicle in the 2100 block of 29th St. at 7 p.m.

 

Barton County Sheriff

Monday calls for service:

A deer and vehicle collided on west K-4 by the Olmitz turnoff at 7 a.m. Kansas Highway Patrol responded.

Radiators and an oil cooler were removed from parked vehicles and equipment at 177 South U.S. 281.

Tires were damaged by metal in the roadway on NE 20 Road.

Three aluminum extension ladders were stolen from 2302 Railroad Ave. over the month.

A Dodge minivan caught fire around 9:40 p.m. Monday, while it was on U.S. 281 near the 4-H Building. Hoisington Fire Department responded.
