Barton County Sheriff
Two trailers were stolen from the 400 block of NE 20 Road, north of Great Bend on Frey Street, it was reported Wednesday morning. The trailers contained air conditioners and stadium lights.
Barton County Jail
No one was booked in or released Wednesday at the Barton County Jail. On Tuesday, 13 or 14 prisoners were returned to Rice County. Undersheriff Larry Holliday said Barton County had been housing some prisoners from the Rice County Jail since the tornado in April.
Great Bend Police
Police began receiving fireworks complaints Wednesday afternoon.
A vehicle driven by Janice Moor was northbound on Harrison St. at 12:49 p.m. Wednesday and struck a vehicle driven by Jack Nuss, who was eastbound on Broadway Ave.
A picnic table was reportedly stolen from 1419 Park Ave.
A vehicle driven by Jennifer Vratil was backing eastbound on Third St. at 3:29 p.m. Wednesday and struck a parked vehicle.
Someone damaged toys in the backyard at 1223 Jackson St.
A motorist in a gray sport utility vehicle drove off from 1315 10th St. without paying for fuel at 6:43 p.m. Wednesday.
A vehicle driven by Larry Teichmann was northbound in the 2700 block of Washington at 8:38 p.m. Wednesday when the tie rod broke, causing the vehicle to hit a parked vehicle.
