Great Bend Fire Department

Firefighters made seven ambulance runs on Wednesday.

There was one fire call; at 10:29 a.m. they responded to the area of 10th and McKinley for a possible vehicle fire. Upon arrival the fire, which was in the engine area, had been extinguished.

 

Barton County Sheriff

A vehicle hit a deer at 5:40 a.m. Thursday on K-4 at NE 110 Ave.

 

Great Bend Police

Wednesday reports:

Police were called to 1908 Adams St. at 12:52 p.m. to check on a woman lying in the yard. Jessica L. Rodriguez, 23, Hoisington, was arrested for disorderly conduct and booked into jail in lieu of $1,000 bond.

In the afternoon, the K-9 officer checked a vehicle at 1908 Adams St., and the dog indicted the presence of drugs. The vehicle was secured and a search warrant was obtained. The search was conducted later at the police department.

Monica Callzada was driving south on Main at 7 p.m. and struck a vehicle driven by Michael Simpson, who was northbound on Main turning west onto 10th St.
