Great Bend Fire Department
Firefighters made one ambulance run on Wednesday.
At 3:58 p.m. they were dispatched to Fifth and Evergreen for a small grass fire.
At 9:09 p.m. received a report of smoke in the hallway at Great Bend Health and Rehab, 1560 K-96.  Chief Mike Napolitano said the staff evacuated residents in the affected hall. Firefighters found a slight haze in the south hallway, caused by an air-conditioning unit in one of the rooms that had malfunctioned. There were no injuries and the residents returned to their rooms once the hall way was cleared.

Wednesday reports:
Welding tools were stolen from 901 Hubbard St.
A man reported his wallet was stolen in 2010 while he was at Walmart. He then reported someone using his identity to obtain cell phone service from Nex-Tech.
A motorist in a green and silver Dodge pickup left 1315 10th St. at 11:18 a.m. without paying for $20 worth of fuel.
A vehicle allegedly driven by Jaime Garcia-Rodriguez was westbound in the 1900 block of 19th St. at 4:42 p.m. and struck a parked vehicle before leaving the scene. The driver was located and arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and leaving the scene.
