Thursday reports
Great Bend Fire Department
Firefighters made two ambulance runs on Thursday and responded to a fire at 2222 Monroe St. at 3:05 p.m.

Great Bend Police
A motorist in a black car drove off from 2334 Main St. without paying for $50 worth of gas at 2:23 p.m.
A vehicle driven by Erica Gonzalez-Diaz was eastbound in the 3300 block of 10th St. at 5 p.m. and struck a vehicle driven by Rachel Meyer, who was also eastbound but stopped in traffic.
Someone stole a pit bulldog from the front yard at 2516 Lakin Ave.

Barton County Sheriff
Posts for stop signs and 911 locator signs at NE 20 Ave. and NW 130 Road were broken off at the ground.
A van driven by Joey Girard hit a deer in the 1500 block of NW 130 Ave. at 8 p.m.

Kansas Highway Patrol
A Derby man was taken to a McPherson hospital on Thursday after the van he was driving hit a semitrailer in McPherson County. The semi driver, from Great Bend, was not injured.
The accident occurred at 2:15 p.m. on U.S. 56, eight miles west of McPherson. Stephen Bowersox, 67, of Derby, was driving west and crossed the center line, striking the eastbound semi on the number five axle. The semi was driven by Timothy Amerine, 54, of Great Bend. Both drivers were wearing seat belts.
