Great Bend Police

Thursday reports:

A vehicle driven by Alicia Fricke backed into a legally parked vehicle on Warner Circle.

A boys bicycle, black in color, was stolen from 1723 Stone St.

A vehicle driven by Nathan Hilligeist was backing in the 2700 block of 10th St. and struck a vehicle driven by Thomas Johnson, who was eastbound, at 1:43 p.m.

A vehicle driven by Mark McLeland was northbound in the 1800 block of 22nd St. at 2:20 p.m. and struck a legally parked vehicle.

A fake $100 bill was received at 1017 Harrison St.

A window at 1801 Stone St. was shot with a BB.

 

Barton County Sheriff

Storage sheds at 210 North Washington Ave., Great Bend, were broken into.

A hit-and-run vehicle struck a vehicle in a parking lot at Barton Community College, it was reported Thursday.

A vehicle hit a deer one mile east of Albert on K-96 at 6:16 p.m. Thursday.

Sometime between the 6:16 p.m. accident and 6:54 p.m., the sheriff’s office assisted an outside agency. All information other than "Outside Agency Asst." has been redacted from the service log.

A caller reported seeing a flash and then an explosion about 2 miles south of Frey St. at 12:05 a.m. Friday. Others reported a loud boom as well.

 

Kansas Highway Patrol

A GMC Sierra driven by Monty D. Hower, 49, of Lucas was westbound on Beatty Road, 3 miles south of Lucas in Russell County, at 11:25 p.m. Friday at a high rate of speed. The driver lost control and over-corrected. The vehicle entered a pasture, where it rolled one-quarter time and came to rest on the driver’s side. Hower was taken to Ellsworth County Medical Center with undetermined injuries.
