Great Bend Police

Two theft cases were taken Friday after a Great Bend resident reported not receiving two vehicles she attempted to purchase off of eBay, for $2,780 and $2,750.

Theft of a tag from 1111 Stone St. was reported Friday.

A car driven by Jose G. Villegas allegedly hit a stop sign on Fifth Street around 12:40 a.m. Saturday and left the area. At 1:02 a.m., the police log shows and officer responding to a domestic call on Fifth Street saw the hit-and-run and activated lights on the patrol car. The suspect vehicle stopped, but the driver and passengers ran away. The car was towed.

Theft of a credit card from a purse at a Third Street address was reported Saturday.

A vehicle driven by Brocklin Mean was westbound in the 3000 block of 10th St. at 12:51 p.m. Saturday and struck a vehicle driven by Shawn Hein, who was stopped on 10th St.

On Saturday afternoon, two sexual battery cases involving the same suspect but different victims were taken. Both incidents allegedly occurred at the same business.

Criminal damage to property at 1609 Main St. was reported Saturday.

A vehicle driven by Jennifer Reukauf was northbound from a private drive in the 3500 block of 10th St. and struck a vehicle driven by Dana Johnson, who was eastbound on 10th at 11:39 p.m. Saturday.

Theft of stereo equipment from a Chevy Blazer at 2313 Garfield St. was reported Sunday.

Someone broke a window on a residence at 1020 Wilson St., it was reported Sunday.

Theft of several items from a vehicle at 5827 16th St. Terrace was reported Sunday. Loss was $430.

An unknown motorist in a tan Cadillac Escalade reportedly backed into a vehicle that was parked in the 1400 block of Lakin Ave. on Sunday.

A burglary at 210 Baker Ave. was reported Sunday. Miscellaneous papers were taken.

Vehicles driven by Cameron Jackson and Sherri Byerly collided at 12th and Stone at 8:22 p.m. Sunday.

Two male subjects allegedly threatened two other males with firearms in the 1900 block of Williams St., it was reported Sunday night. A case was taken for review.

 

Barton County Sheriff

A vehicle hit a deer in the 200 block of NE 30 Road at 7 p.m. Friday.

An attempted burglary at 202 Bermuda Drive, Great Bend, was reported Saturday morning. A window was broken but the residence was not entered.

After a motorist hit a deer on U.S. 281 just north of Great Bend at 12:50 a.m., the car was towed. A deputy and reserve officer responded and shot the deer. Another deer was hit around 4:43 a.m. on North U.S. 281 and NE 20 Road, and was still alive. It was shot later than morning.

A bow hunter was taken to Great Bend Regional Hospital on Sunday morning after tripping and jabbing an arrow into his right calf. He was treated and released.

 

Great Bend Fire Department

Firefighters made five ambulance runs Friday, seven Saturday and nine Sunday. There was one false alarm on Sunday and one call to 406 Dogwood St., where occupants were burning leaves in the back yard. They extinguished the fire.
