Correction: No battery reported at Eagles

Tuesday’s Great Bend Tribune reported that last Sunday a woman reported being battered by an unknown male at the Eagles Lodge. This information was based on a police log which listed the address of the incident at 1024 Main, but the log was incorrect. According to the official police report, the incident occurred between 9:50 and 10:15 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 29, at 1011 Kansas Ave., which is the American Legion.

 

Barton County Sheriff

A sign at NW 10 Ave. and NW 20 Road was bent, it was discovered Thursday morning.

A vehicle driven by David Krier hit a deer about 8 miles north of Claflin on NE 190 Road at 7:30 a.m. Thursday. Kansas Highway Patrol responded.

The sheriff’s office assisted with traffic control after two vehicles collided on North U.S. 281 and NE 30 Road (Bissell’s Point Road) at 9:15 a.m. Thursday. KHP responded.

The sheriff’s office has started an investigation on a report of mistreatment of a dependent adult in the county.

 

Great Bend Police

Theft of four guns and other items from 3220 Lakin Ave. reportedly occurred sometime Wednesday night. Missing items included equipment for a tree business, two computers and jewelry.

Brandon Bonham was served a notice to appear in municipal court after allegedly damaging a vehicle at 2213 18th St. on Thursday morning. Later in the morning he was arrested at that address on a Great Bend Municipal Court warrant for contempt of court.

A hit-and-run vehicle struck a legally parked vehicle in the 1700 block of Holland St.

Theft of 28 Lortab pills from 1560 K-96 was reported Thursday.

A vehicle driven by Jenny Naab was southbound on Sheridan St. at 12:52 p.m. Thursday and struck a vehicle driven by Julie Braymer, who was also southbound stopped at a stop sign.

A motorist reported his vehicle was struck by a hit-and-run vehicle in front of the high school at 3:17 p.m. Thursday.

A "theft by deception" case was taken Thursday. The victim reported sending $200 to the United Kingdom and not getting the item he ordered.
