Kansas Highway Patrol
A car and truck collided at 11:45 a.m. Thursday on U.S. 183, about three miles north of the Rush/Ellis County line. A 2008 Pontiac driven by Adrianna R. Bieker, 18, of Schoenchen, was attempting to make a turn and was rear-ended by a 2004 Mack truck driven by Richard Braun, 47, of Victoria. Both drivers were wearing seat belts. Bieker was taken to Hays Regional Medical Center with undetermined injuries, and Braun was not injured.
Great Bend Fire Department
Firefighters made five ambulance runs on Tuesday and eight on Wednesday. There were no fires.

Wednesday reports:
A criminal damage to property case was taken at 1723 Stone St.
A welder was stolen from the back of a pickup on Seventh St. Loss was $2,000.
A vehicle driven by Ellen Baldwin was eastbound on 23rd St. at 7 p.m. and allegedly failed to yield right of way to Lane Jacobs, who was driving north on Garfield. Baldwin sustained a cut on her left shoulder from the seat belt, and was treated and released at Great Bend Regional Hospital.
A sex offense that allegedly occurred at 3017 10th St. was reported by GBRH at 7:08 p.m.
At 8:59 p.m. it was reported that tools valued at about $1,000 were stolen from tool boxes while the owner was at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post at 504 Washington.
Barton County Sheriff’s Office
Wednesday reports:
Fuel was stolen from city vehicles in Pawnee Rock. A city employee later reported someone had been messing with a water meter. Photos of tire tracks near sewage ponds were provided.
An alleged sex offense involving an adult family member and a 4-year-old boy was reported.
A jail inmate who was described as disorderly was subdued with pepper spray after she allegedly started kicking and fighting officers at 4:27 p.m. and refused to sit in the restraint chair.
A vehicle driven by Tammy Young struck one or two deer at milepost 108 on U.S. 281 at 7:35 p.m.
