Great Bend Police

On Friday a woman reported two of her stolen checks were used at Dillon’s.

A 5:23 p.m. Friday, a male reported that a known person tried to stab him at the Gamestop Store, 3511 10th St., and then slashed his tires.

A burglary at 2601 19th St. was reported Saturday. Someone entered the apartment and took several tools.

Police responded to a report of a fight in front of Ernie’s Bar and Grill, 619 Main, that moved inside around 8:20 p.m. Saturday.

Sarah R. Schwartz, 23, Great Bend, was arrested after police received a report Saturday night that she had fired a gun after an argument at 1603 Morton St. as the alleged victim was leaving. The jail log shows she was released Sunday after posting a $20,000 surety bond.

Theft of a Halloween decoration from a yard at 2526 Walnut Dr. was reported at 12:25 a.m. Sunday. Loss was $40.

Police were called to 1416 21st St. at 2:26 a.m. Sunday, with a report of several subjects fighting at the residence and someone breaking two windows.

A white pickup pulling a white stock trailer was eastbound in the 2400 block of Lakin Ave. at 2:36 a.m. Sunday and struck a vehicle driven by Shirley Burrows, who was westbound, then left the area.

Inflatable Halloween yard decorations at 1447 Park Ave. were slashed, it was reported Sunday.

Mirrors on a truck at 3005 Morton St. were broken off, it was reported Sunday.

An individual arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence at 10:28 a.m. Sunday at Casey’s, 1315 10th St., reportedly showed a blood alcohol content of .41 on a preliminary breath test.

Theft of a Walther P22 (.22 calibre handgun) from a vehicle at 5851 Hemlock Dr. was reported Sunday. Loss was $450.

 

Barton County Sheriff

A vehicle hit a deer in the 400 block of NE 60 Ave. at 7:25 a.m. Friday.

A Barton County Sheriff’s Office vehicle hit a coyote at 4:20 a.m. Saturday on NE K-156 at mile marker 138.

A resident at 318 Sunset Road discovered Saturday morning that a vehicle had hit his mailbox during the night. An individual later came to the scene and admitted he hit the mailbox around 12:30 a.m., rolled his vehicle, which landed on its wheels, and drove home. He was cited.

Around 9 a.m. Saturday a man reported hitting a deer on NW 10 Ave. at NW 150 Road around 1 a.m.

A burglary and theft of vehicle parts from the last week or two at 122 NW 70 Road was reported Saturday.

Theft of torches and a Black and Decker drill and charger from a garage at 270 North Washington Ave. was reported Sunday.

A vehicle hit a deer on K-96, one mile north of Great Bend, at 7:45 p.m. Sunday, and another vehicle hit a deer seven miles north of Great Bend on K-96 at 7:52 p.m. Kansas Highway Patrol responded to both reports.
