Great Bend Fire Department

Firefighters made three ambulance runs Friday, five Saturday, three Sunday and 10 Monday.

On Friday they responded to a possible gas smell in the 900 block of Williams St. They assisted a citizen at Vets Lake on Sunday when a 13-year-old tried to swing in the infant swing and got stuck in the swing. They performed one carbon monoxide check on Monday.

 

Great Bend Police

Monday reports:

A family member of a resident at 1401 Cherry Lane allegedly battered a nurse.

License tag 751CKZ was reported stolen.

Televisions and electric equipment was reportedly stolen in a burglary at 2115 Sunset Road.

A vehicle driven by Lora Shanks backed into a vehicle driven by James Stevenson in the alley in the 1000 block of Main at 6:07 p.m.

Theft of a lost wallet from 1614 Adams St. was reported Monday evening. Another individual reported a lost wallet was recovered on Seventh St. but the money was missing.

A loud boom was reported at 4:41 a.m. Tuesday by a person in the 3400 block of 18th St. Nothing was found.

 

Barton County Sheriff

A shed at 1387 NE 160 was broken into, it was reported Monday. Power tools, copper and pipe were stolen.

A car hit a deer on NW 150 Road (Susan Road) and NW 10 Ave. at 7:47 p.m. Monday.

A sport utility vehicle hit a deer east of Olmitz on NW 80 Ave. and NW K-96 at 7:18 p.m. Tuesday.
