Great Bend Police

Wednesday reports:

A bird bath was stolen from the yard at 5606 Navajo St.

Street barricades in the 1600 block of Cherokee were broken.

Around 11:45 p.m., an officer saw someone who appeared to be trying to break into Keenan Law Firm at 2200 Lakin Ave. The subject left in an Oldsmobile Alero, which another officer located in the area of Forest and Tyler. The driver bailed from the vehicle and fled on foot. The car was towed for impound.

A male was reportedly seen stealing a case of beer from the Kwik Shop at 3907 Broadway at 1:10 a.m. Thursday.

 

Barton County Sheriff

Theft of suitcase weights from a tractor at 376 SE 40 Ave. was reported Wednesday.

A Motorola radio was found Wednesday night at U.S. 281 and NE 30 Road, and it was believed to be one missing from Barton Community College.

At 11:57 p.m., deputies assisted Great Bend police in checking the 3400 block of Forest Ave. for a subject that ran from officers.

A Pontiac G6 hit a raccoon on East U.S. 56 and NE 80 Ave. at 5:49 a.m. Thursday, and had to be towed.
