Great Bend Fire DepartmentFirefighters made two ambulance runs Friday, two Saturday and six Sunday.At 12:16 p.m. Sunday they responded to a large brush fire that got into a tree on the north side of the diversion dam at 465 60 Ave. The Pawnee Rock and Albert fire departments were called to assist. Firefighters were at the scene for three hours.At 12:31 p.m. Sunday they checked on arcing wires at 2711 McKinley St., and at 2:17 p.m. they responded to an unauthorized burn in the 1000 block of Parrish Road.Barton County SheriffA stop sign at NW 20 Ave. and NW 100 Road was shot several times and needed to be replaced, it was discovered Friday afternoon.A minor two-vehicle collision occurred in the 100 block of Patton Road at 3:32 p.m. Friday.A Barton County resident reported a debit card that had been lost or mislaid was being using by someone.A vehicle hit a deer in the 200 block of SE 60 Ave. at 3:52 a.m. Saturday.A lion-shaped archery target recently reported stolen from the range south of Ellinwood was returned, it was reported Saturday.Todd Eveleigh hit a deer with a Harley-Davidson motorcycle around 6 or 7 p.m. Saturday, approximately two miles north of Susank on the Susank Blacktop, and was taken to Clara Barton Hospital in Hoisington by friends. He reportedly had six stitches to his right ring finger and a broken middle finger and was later able to drive the vehicle home.
